The Long Beach City College men's basketball team fell just short against Santiago Canyon College, losing 83-78 on Monday evening in the Hall of Champions. The matchup was a rescheduled game from the Santa Ana Tournament.
Despite the loss, the Vikings showed flashes of promise. "We just have to keep moving forward and pushing as a team," said Lawrence Brown, who led the way for LBCC with 19 points, six assists, and five rebounds.
Mason Pacheco Robinson contributed a solid 17 points, along with two assists, two steals, and five rebounds, while Kason White nearly notched a double-double, grabbing nine rebounds and tallying nine points to help keep the Vikings within striking distance.
"There were a lot of positives tonight," said assistant coach Hosea Lewis. "We rebounded well and pushed the ball effectively, but now we need to translate that effort into wins."
The Vikings will look to bounce back on Wednesday, November 27, when they host Cypress College at 5 p.m. in the Hall of Champions.
