Katharine Pavloff - Golden West College
Katharine Pavloff is being recognized for the Orange Empire Conference's Student Athlete Spotlight.
“Running is my therapy. I don’t know what I would do
if I didn’t run, maybe go crazy? My motto is ‘Run
Hungry. Taste Victory.’”
Always a competitor, sophomore Katharine Pavloff of Golden West
has been running track and cross country for the last 7 years.
While participating in other sports, Pavloff found that with the
support of her teammates, she truly thrived individually in
running. Being a deeply competitive athlete; running cross country,
the 800 meter dash and the 4x400 in track gave her the chance to go
head to head with competitors.
Pavloff is the no. 2 female runner for the Golden West Cross
Country team and is also the team captain. She attributes
much of her current inspiration to run from a former running
Rustler, Heather Simpson, and hopes to inspire her team in the same
way.
Pavloff was nominated to the 2013 All-State Academic Cross Country
team and currently maintains a 3.91 cumulative GPA. Her future
plans are to pursue a degree in Public Health either at the
University of Hawaii at Manoa or UCI, as well as continue to
participate in cross country and track.
Active in her church community, Pavloff spearheaded an international missions trip and organized a trip for the youth group to Nicaragua.
