Riverside’s Villa and Hollis Claim Conference XC Titles
Riverside’s Enrique Villa was named the male Runner of the Year and Sarah Hollis was named the female Runner of the Year as Riverside City College swept both individual titles.

Riverside's Enrique Villa was named the male Runner of the Year and Sarah Hollis was named the female Runner of the Year as Riverside City College swept both individual titles on the way to also win both team titles in 2017.
Villa was one of eight Tigers to earn all-conference honors on the men's side, edging Riverside teammate Ricardo Cardenas at the finish line to win top individual honors. Santa Ana had two runners earn first-team all-conference honors while Saddleback had two runners make second-team all-conference. Fullerton and Orange Coast each had one all-conference runner.
Hollis ran away with the women's individual title, separating herself from the pack by 40 seconds. Three Tiger teammates joined her on the first-team all-conference list. Orange Coast, Saddleback, and Fullerton each placed one runner on the first-team and one runner on the second-team lists while Santa Ana had three second-team all-conference finishers and Santiago Canyon had one all-conference performer.
Jim McCarron (Riverside) was named Coach of the Year for men's cross country while Damien Smith (Riverside) was named Coach of the Year for women's cross country.

Women's First-Team All-Conference: Sarah Hollis, Riverside; Jennilee Reyes, Orange Coast; Robin Valencia, Riverside; Sara Fleming, Saddleback; Samantha Chapa, Riverside; Carissa Gomez, Riverside; Maricruz Vargas, Fullerton.
