After leading the Cypress Chargers to the 2021 Women's Volleyball Orange Empire Conference Championship, freshman setter Vanila Pulu-Suliafu and freshman middle blocker Alli Arriolla were named OEC Co-Most Valuable Players while their Head Coach Nancy Welliver was named OEC Coach of the Year.
Pulu-Suliafu led the conference in assists at 736 as well as service aces with 57. The standout setter also held her own on the defensive side as she recorded 203 digs. Arriolla was the difference maker at the net for the Chargers as she led the OEC in blocks with 93. On top of that, she added 130 kills, giving Cypress a huge presence in the middle.
In addition, the Chargers also saw three earn All-OEC First Team honors and two more recognized on the All-OEC Second Team.
Irvine Valley and Orange Coast landed two players on each team after finishing in a tie for second place. Golden West, Fullerton, Saddleback, Riverside and Santa Ana were each awarded one spot on each team while Santiago Canyon was awarded one on the first team.
