All-OEC Women's Soccer Team Announced
The 2024 regular season is in the books and the coaches from the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) collected to determine an all-conference team. Conference champion Saddleback College led the way with 10 different awards.
Saddleback finished 12-0-2 in OEC play to finish an eyelash ahead of Cypress College in the conference standings. The Bobcats claimed a lot of hardware as a result, having nine players and a coaching staff recognized.
Saddleback's Anjelina Nieto was named the conference MVP while B.J. McNicol and his staff were awarded the Coach-of-the-Year. In addition, the Bobcats had eight others named to the team. Chloe Campagne, Danyela Jara, Jinan Said and Emery Simis were named to the first team while Mason Morton, Allison Lozano, Samantha Arce and Gloria Gomez were named to the second team.
Cypress finished second in the conference and earned seven different recognitions. Itzel Ramirez earned the additional tag of conference Offensive MVP. Joining her as first team selections were Megan Alcantara, Jennifer Arteaga and Jasmin Martinez. Three other Chargers earned second team status in Jessica Vicente, Jasmin De La Torre and Sofia Lopez.
Santiago Canyon and Orange Coast both finished with five different acknowledgements. Santiago Canyon had three different first team selections in Jordyn Lamastra, Samantha Aguila and Alyssa Marino. The Hawks also had Gizelle Bruno and Grayton Normand named to the second team. Orange Coast had the conference defensive MVP in Litzy Morales along with first-team selections Stephanie Serrato and Tess Doucette. The Pirates also had Finley Doucette and Leila Saldic named to the second team.
Golden West, Fullerton and Irvine Valley had four total players named to the all-conference squads while Santa Ana had two.
