Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams Announced

The 2022 season provided a ton of exciting moments for fans in the Orange Empire Conference as six teams qualified for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional Playoffs.  The coaches convened following the season to select an All-Orange Empire Conference Team.

Santiago Canyon captured the conference title and as a result were awarded the most players on the all-conference squad.  The Hawks were led by Nikki Marino, who was named the Orange Empire Conference MVP.  Marino led the Hawks with 17 goals for the year, scoring 12 goals in conference play.  She recorded a hat trick against Golden West on October 21 and had four, game-winning goals throughout the OEC schedule.

Joining Marino from Santiago Canyon were eight other players.  Kylee Medlin, Shelby Kain, Alyssa Rubio and Savanna Prado were named to the All-OEC First Team while Paige Winters, Cassie Lewis, Ally Gorsha and Camryn Toole were named to the All-OEC Second team.

Saddleback's Lizbeth De Loera was named the Orange Empire Conference Offensive MVP after tallying 12 goals during the conference schedule and a team-leading 16 goals heading into the state tournament.  She scored in 9-of-14 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) games and had two goals in a game on three occasions.  De Loera's biggest game during the conference schedule came against Irvine Valley when she tallied two goals and an assist against the Lasers on October 18.

Joining De Loera from the Saddleback roster was six other players.  Averee Campos (pictured), Zoe Chung and Kylie Beu were named the All-OEC First Team while Chloe Green, Alyssa Sims and Alexa Livingstone were name to the All-OEC Second Team.

Cypress College had the Orange Empire Conference Defensive Player-of-the-Year in Jassmin Ortiz.  The sophomore defender was part of a Cypress defense that recorded 13 shutouts on the season and 10 in Orange Empire Conference play.  In addition, Ortiz finished fourth on the team in goals for the year with six.

Joining Ortiz from the Cypress roster was six other players.  Presli Dillon, Siriana Gudino and Alyssa Villalobos were all named to the All-Orange Empire Conference First Team while Celine Gehrig, Gabby Gutierrez and Christine Duarte were named to the All-Orange Empire Conference Second Team.

Golden West, Orange Coast, Santa Ana and Fullerton were awarded four all-conference selections apiece while Irvine Valley had two.

In addition to the individual awards, Santiago Canyon was named the Orange Empire Conference Program-of-the-Year.
