Fullerton's Jeon Wins Individual State Women's Golf Title

MORRO BAY, CA  -  Fullerton College sophomore Eunsoo Jeon captured the California Community College Athletic Association women's golf individual state championship title on Monday with a two-day, 36-hole total of 142.

Jeon, who finished 11th at last year's state championship, posted a bogey-free round on the way to a tournament-low score of 3-under-par 69 on Sunday and then added a 1-over-par 73 on Monday with two birdies and three bogeys.  She adds the state title to the Orange Empire Conference individual title she earned two weeks earlier.

Joining Jeon with all-state honors was Irvine Valley College freshman Katie Stribling who finished fourth overall with a two-day total of 148 (74-74).  Stribling had three birdies on Monday along with three bogeys and a double-bogey.

Saddleback was the lone Orange Empire Conference team participating in this year's state championship.  The Gauchos were sitting in third place with a narrow lead after the first day with a team score of 331 but slipped to sixth place on the second day with a 339 and ended up sixth overall with a two-day total of 670.

College of the Canyons won the state title with College of the Desert placing second and Sierra College finishing third.
