Ayala leads Bobcats in San Diego

The Saddleback men's cross country team picked up a win at the San Diego Kickoff Meet on Friday in San Diego.  Freshman Mike Ayala led the Bobcats.

Ayala crossed the finish line in 16:26 to win the individual medley.  Ayala was four seconds faster than his closest competitor.

Saddleback had two more top-10 finishes from Darin Hoi and Cayden Reish.  Hoi was eighth in a time of 17:12 while Reish was 10th in a time of 17:14.

Rounding out the team scoring for Saddleback was Justin Boos and Logan Doyle, who finished 17th and 24th, respectively. 

Saddleback finished in first place in the team competition after tying Cuyamaca College with 60 points, but were awarded the win in a tiebreaker. 

Saddleback will be back in action on September 13 at the SoCal Preview at Chaffey College.
