Top-Ranked Fullerton Defeats Santa Ana, Sits Atop Conference Standings

In an Orange Empire Conference match, the No. 1 in state Fullerton College Hornets scored two late goals at Santa Ana College Tuesday to beat the Dons 2-1.

It was a good win for undefeated FC as the team fell behind 1-0 in the first half when Marck Rayo passed the ball to Saul Vasquez for the game's first goal (41:46).

Down 1-0 at the half, the unphased Hornets tied it up in the 73rd minute on a shot by Misael Gonzalez after taking the feed from Garrett Eikermann. The goal was Gonzalez's 13th on the season, which leads the Orange Empire Conference.

Thomas Gomez knocked in the game winner in the 87th minute on a pass from Aldo Ramirez. The goal was Gomez's first on the season.

FC goalkeeper Jonathan Ortiz had one goal against with 4 saves on the day.
