Rolbiecki, Valenzuela Earn Top Accolades for All-OEC honors​

Cypress College's Evan Rolbiecki and Riverside City College's Jake Valenzuela earned the top honors of Orange Empire Conference baseball at this year's OEC coach's meeting.

Rolbiecki, a 5'10 sophomore outfielder from El Dorado HS, was named the 2025 OEC Player of the Year, while Valenzuela – a 6'0 pitcher from Ramona HS – earned Pitcher of the Year honors, as voted on by the OEC head coaches.

Rolbiecki was the main cog in the Chargers' engine this year, helping Cypress to the OEC title. In 21 conference games, Rolbiecki batted .341 with 31 hits, 23 runs, 8 HR and 31 RBI. His 8 HR and 31 RBI led all OEC hitters, while his .714 slugging percentage was third-best in the conference. Rolbiecki hit safely in 16-of-21 OEC games played this year and his 16 extra-base hits also topped the rest of the OEC hitters.

Valenzuela was the anchor on a Tigers pitching staff that earned the lowest ERA in the OEC and seventh-lowest in the state in ERA at 3.48. In seven appearances during OEC play, Valenzuela went 6-0 with a 2.93 ERA, allowing just 15 earned runs over 46 innings of work with 11 walks and 46 strikeouts. Included in that list of games was a complete-hit, 6-0 win against Saddleback, where he allowed just five hits, two walks and nine strikeouts. His six OEC wins led all conference pitchers, as did his innings pitched (46) and strikeouts (46).

Seven players from this year's OEC-champion Chargers earned first-team honors, including Rolbiecki, pitchers Tommy McGuire Jayson Thomas and Brandon Wyland, infielder Justin Tillar and outfielder Dustin Robinson and DH Bradley Navarro. 

Conference runner-up Riverside had six first-teamers, including Valenzuela, pitchers Erik Rodriguez, and Jorge Rodriguez, catcher Ian Nguyen, infielder Bubba Heidler and outfielder Parker Sobiesiak. 

Cypress College head coach Anthony Hutting was named the OEC Coach of the Year after guiding his Chargers to a 17-4 conference record (31-9 overall) in one of the toughest conferences in all of California Community College baseball.
