ORANGE, CA – The SBCC women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 in the SoCal Regional Semifinals at Santiago Canyon, ending the Vaqueros' season.
The Hawks (19-1-2) put the pressure on early, but Santa Barbara's defense held strong. That changed in the 34th minute, when Santiago Canyon substitute Megan Llopis scored on her on a far post header off a cross from deep on the left wing by Nikki Marino.
The Vaquero defense helped keep them within striking distance the rest of the way, but the offense was only able to muster up one shot on target which was saved by goalkeeper Savanna Prado. SBCC goalkeeper Analea Pule finished with five saves of her own.
