The Irvine Valley baseball team split games with a solid San Diego Mesa squad late this week.
The Lasers went to San Diego Mesa on Thursday and pulled out a high-scoring, 17-12 win.
IVC scored eight runs in the first three innings, but really took control in the middle part of the game, scoring three runs in the fifth inning, four in the sixth and another two runs in the seventh inning for the win.
Irvine Valley was paced by freshman shortstop Jake Admundson with an impressive seven RBI on the day.
He had three hits, including a double and a triple, walked and also scored two three runs.
Sophomore first baseman Jakcson Snitko contributed by going 4 of 6 with two runs and three RBI.
Freshman center fielder Sam Tucci added two hits, two runs and four RBI.
Freshman rightfielder Connor Gomez ended with two doubles and three runs and freshman left fielder Cole Lefebvre had two hits, including a double with two runs and one RBI for IVC.
Sophomore designated hitter Kade Murray also added two RBI.
On the mound, sophomore right-hander AJ Roettger earned the win. He went 4.1 innings.
Roettger allowed eight runs (seven earned) on 13 hits with two strikeouts.
Sophomore righty Zack Marker pitched the final inning, going scoreless with one strikeout.
The two teams matched up again on Satuirday at Irvine Valley with Mesa earning a 9-3 victory.
The Olympians scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 5-1 lead,
Irvivne Valley answered with two runs in the bottom of the fram to make it a game, but the Olympians put the contest away with two runs in each of the top of the eighth and ninth innings.
For Irvine Valley, Amundson went 3 for 4 with a stolen base and sophomore second baseman Chase Quezada was 1 for 3 with a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base.
Ethan Wright, Frank Giacalone and Tobin Orzel each had two hits with Orzel hitting a home run and endind with two RBI.
Sophomore left-hander Jackson Chastain took the loss for the Lasers. He went five innings and gave up five runs on eight hits and one walk with one strikeout.
Irvine Valley plays again on Tuesday on the road at LA Valley at 1 p.m.
The Lasers then host LA Valley Thursday at 1 p.m.
