FULLERTON BLANKS SANTA ANA

It was a big game on Tuesday between two undefeated teams in the Orange Empire Conference, and the Fullerton came out on top 2-0 at Santa Ana College.

The Hornets are now riding high in first place in the OEC standings with a record of 4-0-1. Cypress is trying its best to hang with Fullerton serving as the other undefeated team in the conference at 2-0-3.

In the first half, both teams battled hard playing good defense with it ending in a 0-0 draw. The second half was a little different as the Hornets broke through with an early goal in the 46th minute when Julio Toaza passed the ball to Jacob Ponce for the score.

As time began to tick off the clock, Fullerton locked down an insurance goal in the 86th minute from a Yovanni Sanchez shot with the assist coming from Nathan Giles.

Goalie Steven Martinez helped the Hornets to their 7th shutout-win of the season with 3 saves.
