Men's Soccer Defeats Irvine Valley College, Earn First Win of Season

Following two initial losses, the Olympian men's soccer team secured their first victory with a 1-0 home win against Irvine Valley College.

Sophomore Eric Rochin scored the decisive goal during the second half's 56th minute.

Goalkeeper Javier Morales maintained a clean sheet despite Irvine Valley College's fourteen shots on goal. Head Coach Ray Taila praised Morales' performance, stating, "His play was spectacular. He kept us in the game until we could score and maintain our lead."

Taila likes what he saw against the Lasers,  adding, "As long as we maintain today's level of play, we will be competitive with any team in this division. It was an exciting game, with both teams generating opportunities. We are pleased with our team's performance and continued improvement."

The team will travel tomorrow to face the Citrus Owls. Kickoff is scheduled at 4:00 p.m.
