SAN MARCOS, CA (12/9/2022) -- No. 26 Palomar College closed out its non-conference schedule with a 88-74 loss to No. 23 Santiago Canyon College.
The Comets were leading 33-30 at the half as sophomore Andrew Milot scored 11 points en route to a 19-point night. The Comets sent the Hawks to the free-throw line 31 times to their five as a team. The Hawks went 17-31 at the charity stripe as the Comets made just one of their own. Santiago Canyon also outrebounded the Comets 41-35, but the Comets forced 20 turnovers while committing 16.
Sophomore Clyde Harris posted his fifth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds along with two assists and one steal. Freshman Ciro Baeza finished the night 6-17 with 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and one block. Freshman Adam Sevier rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 of his own, four assists, two steals, and one rebound.
The Comets finish their non-conference schedule 8-4 and will start PCAC play on Wednesday night as they host Cuyamaca College for a 5 p.m. tipoff in the Dome.
