SPLITTING THE SERIES

SPLITTING THE SERIES

In the home opener on Saturday, the Hornets lost 8-3 to Cerritos College.

Splitting the series, both Fullerton and Cerritos walk away with 1-1 records.

The Falcons scored two runs in the top of the first when Marco Lopez hit a hard single to left center scoring Juan Garcia and Nico Briones.

FC cut the lead in half in the bottom of the first thanks to Rudy Gonzales's single to center field that scored Kyle Buchanan.

Fullerton tied the game up 2-2 in the second when Dillon Anderson singled to center field, scoring Noah Rodriguez.

One crack of the bat by Cerritos' Ricky Ahumada in the fourth brought in two baserunners DJ Massey and Dylan Immel and the Hornets found themselves down 4-2.

Fullerton got a run back in the bottom of the fourth on a SAC Fly hit to right field by Landon Runge that plated Noah Rodriguez. That would be the last run for FC as the Falcons added four more runs to secure the win.

Both Britton Beeson and Noah Anderson had multi-hit games for Fullerton going 2 for 4 on the day. Other hits were had by Landon Runge and Rudy Gonzalez.

Up Next: The Hornets (1-1) will host Southwestern College on Tuesday, January 30th at 1:00 pm.
