AVC Women's Soccer handed Fullerton College a 3-1 loss in the CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoffs on Wednesday and will move on to face Cypress College in the next round.
The Hornets came ready to play and got on the board first with a goal just over twenty-three minutes in. The Marauders responded ten minutes later when Cassi James scored off a beautiful assist from Kaylin Gonzalez. James went on to score two more times off penalty kicks in the second half to complete her third hat trick of the season. The Oregon State commit leads the Marauders in goals on the season with 18.
Antelope Valley totaled 20 shots on the day, 14 on goal, while Katie Crees recorded 2 saves. Crees made a remarkable play in the first half to deny Fullerton a score on one of their three shots on goal. She is the team leader in saves.
The Marauders now have a date with the 13-2-4 Cypress Chargers this Saturday at 1:00 PM at Cypress.
