W. BEACH VOLLEYBALL: SCHAEFER & HENDERSON ADVANCE
The sophomore duo of Lauren Schaefer and Amanda Henderson advanced to the next round OEC Pairs Championships.
Playing as the No. 8 seed Schaefer and Henderson made the top 16 cut by defeating Cypress' No. 25 seed Pilkington and Corona 21-14, 21-16.
FC No. 16 Andrea Lopez and Carlie Ortega were upset by No. 17 Lucrezia Lauldi and Hannah Reid of Orange Coast College 21-16, 15-21, 15-5.
The Hornet's 22nd seed of Kailyn Case and Samantha Linares fell to No. 11 Kayla Owens and Alisha Ormand 21-17, 21-7.
Up Next. The Sweet Sixteen for the Orang Empire Conference Pairs Championships on Friday, April 25th. Schaefer and Henderson will open up with Orange Coast's No. 2 seed Camryn Kaina and Rylee Adair at Irvine Valley College. Matches will begin at 10:00 am.
