
The MSJC men's basketball team saw their losing streak hit five games on Saturday as they lost a home contest against Saddleback 69-58.
The Eagles started the week in San Diego where they took on Mesa College and played an even first half before falling to the Olympians 72-61. RJ Dawson led the Eagle offense at Mesa with 14 points and he also grabbed 5 rebounds. James Freeman IV added 13 points and also had 5 boards. Adrian Mosley was the third Eagle to record double figures with 11 points he added 3 blocked shots. Armani Battiste had a team high 7 rebounds.
In Saturday's game with Saddleback the Eagles fell behind 31-21 at halftime and could not recover in the 69-58 game. The Bobcats built the lead to as much as 23 with just over six minutes to play in the game, but MSJC closed with a 19-7 run to tighten up the final score. Freeman IV scored a game high 13 points and Elijah Edwards added 12. Mosley had 9 points and a team high 6 rebounds while Kristian Jemerson added 8 points.
The Eagles drop to 3-8 on the season with the two losses and will open Inland Empire Athletic Conference play on Wednesday when they travel to Rancho Cucamonga to take on Chaffey. Saturday MSJC will return home to host Copper Mountain. Wednesday's game starts at 7 pm with Saturday's match up set to tip-off at 3.
