LA Valley
Hosting No. 17 LA Valley College in a best of three series in the Super Regionals on Friday, the No. 13 Hornets lost game one 9-3.
The ball did not bounce right for Fullerton in this game as the Hornets fell behind 7-0 by the fifth inning. LA Valley added two more runs in the ninth making it nearly impossible for a home-team comeback.
Trying their best to chip away at the Monarch's daunting 9-0 lead, it would be too little too late as FC could only get back three runs in the bottom of the ninth. With two outs and bases loaded, Elie Kligman clubbed a double that bounced off the right field ivy scoring Isaiah Marquez and Bryce Gamble. Then Rudy Gonzales cranked a single to shallow right field plating Haku Dudoit.
Up Next: Fullerton (24-20 overall) will host LA Valley (27-18) for game two of the three-game series on Saturday, May 13th at 11:00 am. Game three (if needed) will follow at 2:45 pm.
