Riverside City College closed out the non-conference portion of its season Friday with a 66-52 victory over Imperial Valley College.
The Tigers improve to 9-7 on the year with the win, while the Desert Warriors slip to 8-6 overall.
Two Tigers had 20-point games, with Talia Washington leading all scorers with 22 points (7-for-16). N'Dya Parks followed with 20 points (8-for-16) and was one board shy of a double-double. Her nine rebounds helped the Tigers win the glass, though, as Riverside out-rebounded IVC 44-to-37.
RCC opened strong, shooting 45.5 percent from the floor in the first 10 minutes, while limiting the opponents to just a 23.5 shooting clip. It helped the Tigers jump out to an eight-point lead early as Camille Hickey made two free throws to put her team up 13-5.
The Warriors battled back in the second and pulled within four points at halftime, 30-26, but the Tigers held onto their lead and pulled away in the fourth.
Riverside opened the frame on an 8-2 run to grab its highest lead of the night, 57-41, off a Parks jumper.
Washington sealed the victory with just 12 seconds on the clock after driving to the basket to give the Tigers the 66-52 win.
