Cats handle business against IVC

The Saddleback women's soccer team finished the regular season with a 4-0 victory over Irvine Valley College on Thursday at IVC.  The Bobcats now await a playoff announcement on Monday.

Saddleback finished in second place in the Orange Empire Conference and currently sits No. 3 in the state power points after the win on Thursday.  With some teams in Southern California playing tomorrow, it is still unclear as to where the Bobcats will be seeded.

Saddleback opened the scoring when Leila Patopoff scored off a pass from Brisa Romero in the 14th minute.  The Bobcats made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute when Kylie Beu scored on a free kick.

Saddleback made it 3-0 in the opening minute of the second half when Christina Santoyo tallied a goal off a pass from Lizbeth De Loera.  Santoyo (pictured) scored her second of the game and sixth of the season five minutes later as the Bobcats put the game on ice.

Jamie-Lynne Clark started in goal and played the first half before giving way to Olivia Wynn.  The duo combined for the 12th shutout of the season.

Saddleback finishes the regular season 16-2-3 overall and 11-1-2 in Orange Empire Conference play.
