SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Santa Ana College Women's Basketball team began Orange Empire Conference play with a couple victories, extending its winning streak to seven games.
On Wednesday, the Dons (15-3, 2-0) overcame a slow start and defeated the Irvine Valley Lasers (9-9, 1-1) by a score of 71-61. Kiki Graham led the way with 21 points on 6-of-10 shooting with five rebounds. SAC also got a spark from Kimberly Limon who posted 14 points and seven boards in 20 minutes.
The Dons followed that with a blowout win over Saddleback (7-9, 0-1) on Friday night. Four out of five starters scored in double digits while Aisleigh Canaday added 14 off the benh.
Larissa Robles had a game high 19 points with six steals, five rebounds and three assists. Anaya Beard came just short of a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. Freshmen guards Mia Rivera and Graham combined for 27 points, 10 assists and seven steals.
Santa Ana will try to add to their streak on Wednesday when they host Cypress (11-7, 0-2) at 5:00 p.m.
