SANTA ANA, Calif. - Connor Dietsch hit two home runs and drove in five to help the Santa Ana College Baseball team win 13-5 over the East LA Huskies (4-5) on Tuesday afternoon.
Dietsch, a sophomore out of Mission Viejo High, had the biggest hit of the day in the third inning as he turned on a pitch and launched it over the left center field wall for a three-run, go-ahead homer to give SAC a 5-4 lead.
After a 3-for-5 day, Dietsch is now hitting .381 with three home runs and eight RBI's.
The Dons (3-4) fell behind early as ELAC posted four runs in the first two innings. But after Aidan Colin took the mound in the third, their offense came to a halt as the sophomore bounce back from Cal State Northridge struck out eight while giving up just one run in four and two third innings to pick up the win.
Santa Ana then turned to Spencer Johnsen, who struck out five on his way to two and a third shutout innings.
Offensively, the Dons got contributions throughout the lineup as Jack Mueller, Christian Altamirano and Mason Kelley all joined Dietsch with three hits on the day.
Nathaniel Williams added a couple hits and two walks while Robert Linares got the start in left field, coming up with four runs batted in and a hit.
The Dons will now go on the road to Mt. San Antonio College on Wednesday as schedules continue to change due to rain. First pitch will be at 5:00 p.m.
