Bobcats outduel Knights
The Saddleback men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season with a 5-4 victory over San Diego City College on Thursday afternoon at the Saddleback Tennis Complex. The Bobcats pulled out the win after a marathon match at No. 4 singles.
Saddleback opened with a 2-1 lead in doubles play after Adrian Cole and Max Banks teamed up at No. 2 doubles for an 8-7 win. The duo dominated the tiebreaker 8-2 to give the Bobcats a lead heading into singles play.
Banks then won a marathon at No. 4 singles to give the Bobcats their first win of the season. With the team match tied at 4-4, Banks outdueled Danny Cao 10-7 in a third set tiebreaker to push Saddleback over the finish line.
Saddleback is now 1-1 on the season. The Bobcats will play at Ventura College on Friday. Match time is scheduled for 2:00 PM in Ventura.
