Compton, Calif. - In a rematch from last season's CCCAA SoCal Southern Regional Round Two double-overtime game, the Compton men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with Golden West (0-0-2) on Friday afternoon.

Freshman Jose Rodriguez connected on a cross to the far corner in the 86th minute to break the scoreless game. But in stoppage time, the Rustlers' Kevin Reyes found the back of the goal off a foul to knot the match.

In the goal, freshman Jaime Serna recorded nine saves on the day.

The Tartars (1-0-1) head to Cuyamaca next on Tuesday, Sept. 4 for a 4 p.m. match.
