Saddleback keeps pace

The Saddleback women's water polo team defeated Cypress College, 13-7, on Wednesday in Cypress.  The Bobcats remain in a tie for second place in the Orange Empire Conference.

Saddleback and Cypress played even through the first 2.5 quarters when the Bobcats made their move.  Trailing 6-7, Saddleback outscored Cypress 7-0 the rest of the way to cruise across the finish line.

Gabrielle Pasillas tied the game on a goal with 2:20 remaining in the third before Holliss Munchoff scored two straight goals to put Saddleback ahead for good.  Munchoff would add another with 4:06 remaining for her fourth goal of the game and give the Bobcats an 11-7 lead.  Lilian Wang and Gabriella Reed added late goals to cement the win.

Saddleback is now 10-5 overall and 3-1 in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats are tied for second place in conference play with Orange Coast College, one game behind Riverside City College.

Saddleback will play in the Cuesta College Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
