The Oxnard College Condors softball team secured a 5-4 victory over Santa Ana College today, moving to a solid 5-2 record to start the season. After a quiet first five innings, the Condors exploded in the sixth inning to take control of the game and hold off a late Santa Ana rally.

The Condors were led by Amber Cervantez, who pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out six. The team capitalized on key offensive plays in the sixth inning, with Savannah Saxton's bunt single that brought in the first run, followed by a series of unearned runs due to errors and strategic hitting.

Sophomore Isabela Nava had a productive outing, going 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Madison Gray contributed with a 1-for-3 performance, driving in two runs with a clutch double. Other key contributors to the win included Alizsa Rosas, who scored two runs, and Cervantez, who also added two hits to the Condors' attack.

Santa Ana mounted a late rally in the bottom of the sixth, scoring four runs, including a two-RBI hit by Yasmine Garcia, but the Condors' defense held strong to preserve the lead. Despite a solid performance from Santa Ana pitchers Karen Vasquez and Kalani Gonzales, who combined for 5 strikeouts, the Condors were able to weather the storm and secure the win.

Oxnard Head Coach, Bianca Noriega, praised the team for their resilience and timely hitting. "It was a great team effort today. Amber pitched a strong game, and we capitalized on key opportunities. We're excited to keep building on this momentum moving forward."

With the win, Oxnard College continues its promising start to the season, and the Condors will look to keep the momentum going as they prepare for their next match.

The Condors will host Rio Hondo tomorrow at 2:30, in the Nest.
