2022 OEC Championship Tournament is Around the Corner

CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress men's water polo team (10-8, 1-4 OEC) ended conference-play against the Riverside Tigers (10-19, 2-3 OEC) on Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately, the Chargers fell short to the Tigers, 19-13.

Water Polo Head Coach, Mark Canner, added "The loss to Riverside was rough, though I am proud of Sawyer Nering (3 goals, 4 steals) and Sam Smith (2 goals, 1 steal) for stepping up as our center defenders while our leading scorer (Aydann Hambruch) is out. We look forward to playing this weekend and our first opponent (Southwestern) is a big match for us."

Men's water polo sit in the fifth seed of the Orange Empire Conference standings and will revisit the Riverside City Tigers for their first match of the OEC Championship Tournament.

UP NEXT: The Chargers will compete in a 3 game tournament on Friday, October 28th at Southwestern College. The first match is set to begin at 11:20am.
