The MSJC women's tennis team opened the season this week winning on the road Tuesday and dropping a match at home on Wednesday.
The Eagles traveled to Antelope Valley on Tuesday and took 2 of 3 doubles matches to take an early lead. They would go on to win 5 of 6 singles matches on their way to a 7-2 team victory. Madison Williamson set the tone in the number one singles match as she won 6-0 and 6-2. Trinity Anderson fought back after losing the opening set in the #2 singles match to win in three sets 1-6, 6-4, and 10-6. Breannah Baron, Cameron Royo, and Savannah Llado added straight set wins for the Eagles.
Wednesday in their home opener the Eagles competed hard but came up short against Riverside City College 9-0. Royo put forth a strong effort in her match before losing in three 1-6, 7-5, and 5-10.
The Eagles will return to action next week with two home matches when they host Mt. SAC on Tuesday and Rio Hondo on Thursday. Both matches will be on the San Jacinto Campus beginning at 2 pm.
