The Golden West College beach volleyball team opened Orange Empire Conference play on the sand, securing two straight 5-0 sweeps against Santa Ana College and Saddleback College. 

Match 1: Golden West Defeats Santa Ana 5-0

Golden West opened the day with a commanding performance over Santa Ana, sweeping all five pairs.

• No. 1 Pair: Hayden Johnson / Marren Matthews set the tone early with a decisive 21-5, 21-8 victory.
• No. 2 Pair: Jenna Zaffino / Cassandra Zoellers fought through a competitive battle but secured a 21-11, 21-19 win.
• No. 3 Pair: Jalissa Costa / Elyse Varipapa dominated their matchup, winning 21-9, 21-2.
• No. 4 Pair: Keely Larson / Lola Larson were tested in a three-set thriller but prevailed 17-21, 23-21, 15-9.
• No. 5 Pair: Trinity Webber / Fabiana Padilla won by forfeit, sealing the 5-0 sweep for Golden West.

Match 2: Rustlers Stay Perfect Against Saddleback, 5-0

Golden West carried its momentum into the second match, delivering another flawless performance against Saddleback College.

• No. 1 Pair: Johnson / Matthews continued their stellar play, winning 21-14, 21-17.
• No. 2 Pair: Zaffino / Zoellers dominated once again, securing a 21-10, 21-12 victory.
• No. 3 Pair: Costa / Varipapa battled through three sets but emerged victorious 21-17, 19-21, 15-8.
• No. 4 Pair: Padilla / Larson controlled their match from start to finish, winning 21-14, 21-7.
• No. 5 Pair: Webber / Keely Larson won by forfeit, clinching another 5-0 sweep.
