
BASEBALL: VAQUEROS TOO MUCH FOR HORNETS
The FC baseball team hosted Santa Barbara City College to Hornet Field on Tuesday and lost a non-conference game to the Vaqueros 14-7.
Fullerton drew first blood in the bottom of the 1st scoring on Sawyer Chesley's double to left field that scored Ryan Lamastra scored.
The Vags went up 2-1 in the top of the 2nd when Owen Crevelt singled through the left side plating Jarred Greene. Noah Williamson got on base on a FC fielding error allowing Trevor Davis to come home from third base.
Ther Hornets pushed back in the bottom 2nd taking a 3-2 lead. With the bases loaded Jack Janes was hit by a pitch forcing Nolan Ewens across home plate. Lamastra then flied out to center field for a SAC fly scoring Dean Drake.
Santa Barbara tied the game up at 3 a piece in the 3rd on Greene's triple to right field plating Alonzo Rubalcaba.
FC took a 4-3 lead in the bottom 3rd when Brock Denbo flied out to rf for a SAC fly giving Tony Accordino the chance to score from third.
SBCC added three runs in the top of the 4th snatching a 6-4 lead. Ryan Guardino knocked a single to left center Brandon Lawrence. Jacob Bravo grounded out to second plating Guardino and Rubalcaba hit a hard shot that flew off the pitcher's glove for a base hit scoring Kyle Froemke from third.
The Hornets got a run back in the 4th on a throwing error that allowed Elias Rios to come around from second.
The Vaqs went up 8-5 in the top of the 5th when Guardino hit a SAC fly to right allowing Trevor Davis to come advance home, and Lawrence scored from thrid on a wild pitch.
In the 5th Fullerton's Ewens blooped a single to center field scoring Chesley.
The game got away from FC in the 7th on Fromke's grandslam that sailed over the left field ivy, and Bravo took advantage of a wild pitch to put Santa Barbara up 13-6.
