Goals from Nikki Marino, Keyla Fragoso and Alyssa Rubio gave the Hawks victory in their first Orange Empire Conference contest of the season, over a competitive Orange Coast Pirates team.
The Hawks dominated the opening period but went in to the break up 1-0 as Nikki Marino set SCC on the way with a left-footed drive around the half-hour mark. Marino hit the cross-bar early in the second half, before Keyla Fragoso doubled the lead with a fierce shot from inside the penalty area. Alyssa Rubio closed out the scoring late on to give the Hawks the 3-0 win over the visitors. Defenders Paige Winters, Kylee Medlin, Jackie Alba-Diaz (all pictured) and Emily Baro helped Zaydee Solis in goal collect the shut-out.
SCC play next at OC Great Park, Field 21 against Irvine Valley College on Friday, October 1st. Kick-off is at 3pm
