SANTA ANA – The Rio Hondo College women's volleyball team put together its best effort of the season but unfortunately the Roadrunners suffered a tough 3-0 loss against Santa Ana College at home on Wednesday.
The final 3-0 score isn't indicative of the way the team battled, dropping three close sets of 25-23, 25-23, 25-23.
Osyris Roldan had a solid match for the Roadrunners with 6 kills and 16 digs. Jayde Ruiz also had 6 kills and Megan Liggins posted a team-high 18 digs. Angel Luna paced the offense with 15 assists while chipping in with 10 digs.
The loss dropped Rio Hondo to 0-6 overall. The Roadrunners are back in action on Friday (Sep. 13) when they travel to No. 12 state-ranked Orange Coast College for a non-conference match.
