
The MSJC beach volleyball team played a pair of highly competitive matches Friday on the Menifee Valley Campus as they took on Cerritos and Cypress.
In their first match of the day against Cerritos the Eagles fell just short 3-2. Josephine Springer and Korie Milan won their number one match 21-19 and 21-10. MSJC also earned a win with their number four duo of Amari Ramirez and Sienna Vitelli. Ramirez and Vitelli bounced back after an opening set loss 18-21, to rally for a second set victory of 21-16, and a match clincher in the third set 15-12.
The Eagles went right back to work later in the day as they defeated Cypress 3-2. Springer and Milan again earned victory at number one 21-11 and 21-17 while MSJC's number two pair of Megan Gajda and Brooklyn Jimenez also picked up a straight set victory 21-15 and 21-18. The Eagles secured victory by winning the number five match in dominating fashion as Audrey Franks and Angelina Browder teamed up to win 21-11 and 21-5.
The Eagles are now 5-5 on the season and will travel to Ventura on Friday to play both the Pirates and College of the Desert. MSJC's first match of the day will be against Desert and is scheduled to begin at 9 am.
