Tigers Fall Just Short at Marauders
Riverside City College out-hit Antelope Valley College Tuesday afternoon but came up just short in a 4-3 loss on the road.
The Tigers – who have lost by two or fewer runs in four of their five games – move to 0-5, while the Marauders improve to 4-0 on the year.
RCC had four hits in the game, with Jocelyn Romero going 2-for-3 for the Tigers. Jessica Gaitan (1-for-2) and Isabella Ramirez (1-for-3) also had hits for Riverside. Romero had a double and a triple, while Gaitan blasted a solo home run in her first appearance at the plate.
After tying and taking the lead at the top of the fifth, the Tigers committed costly mistakes in the bottom half of the inning to hand the Marauders the victory.
Gaitan threw eight strikeouts in the circle for the Tigers.
RCC continues on the road, heading to No. 11-ranked Long Beach City College on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
