It was another superb day for Panther Baseball as they took on #2 ranked Cypress. "We saw two outstanding performance on the mound from Josh Sandoval and Blake Griffin today," remarked Interim Head Coach Andy Smith. Sandoval took the first five innings giving up three hits and one run with four strikeouts. Griffin got the win closing out the last four innings with only 2 hits by the Chargers. "Both filled up the strike zone and maintained great tempo."
Sophomore Bradley Chesterton's three run homer in the 6th was "the difference in the game against a quality pitcher, program, and coaching staff." Leftfielder Tyvon Moore had a single RBI sac fly in the top of the 9th to give the Panthers their final run of the game.
The Panthers will travel to Fullerton Tuesday to complete yesterday's game that was called for darkness in the 8th inning and then will play the scheduled complete game against the Hornets. Fans are welcome with proof of vaccination or proof of a negative test within 72 hours of the event.
