Unbeaten streak hits 10

The Saddleback women's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to 10 games with a 4-0 victory over Orange Coast College on Friday inside the Saddleback Stadium.  The defense was dominating, holding the Pirates to only a handful of shots.

Saddleback's defense has been red hot in recent games.  The Bobcats allowed just three total shots and zero shots on goal in cruising past the Pirates on Friday.  In the past two games, Saddleback has outshot its opponents 67-3, including a 33-0 advantage in shots on goal.  The beneficiaries have been goalies Jamie-Lynne Clark and Olivia Wynn, who combined on Friday for a third straight shutout and ninth shutout of the season.

Saddleback opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Lizbeth De Loera fed a beautiful pass to Chloe Green for her 10th goal of the season.  The Bobcats took that 1-0 lead into the locker room, outshooting the Pirates 9-0 in the opening frame.

Saddleback came out hot in the second half, taking the play to the Pirates.  De Loera scored her 10th goal of the season off a pass from Kylie Beu in the 60th minute for a 2-0 lead.  Five minutes later it was 3-0 after Emma Radzai fed Alexa Livingstone for her fourth goal of the season in the 65th minute.  Saddleback finished the scoring in the 76th minute when Beu was taken down inside the box by the Orange Coast goalie, thus rewarding her with a penalty kick.  Beu proceeded to beat OCC keeper Jessica Gardner to the right side for her sixth goal of the season to put the game out of reach.

Saddleback is now 12-1-2 overall and 7-0-1 in Orange Empire Conference play following the win.  The Bobcats get a challenging test on Tuesday when they travel to Cypress College to take on the Chargers at 3:00 PM.

Saddleback's unbeaten streak hit 10 on Friday with the win.  The Bobcats have not lost since dropping a 1-0 decision to Chaffey College on September 13.  Saddleback's longest unbeaten streak in history came last season when they remained unbeaten for 15 straight games.   The Bobcats are 9-0-1 during the current streak.
