The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team is now rolling.
The Lasers went on the road and defeated Riverside, 25-18, 19-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-11, in an Orange Empire Conference match on Wednesday night.
Sophomore outside hitter Audrey Fowler led the Lasers with 25 kills.
Irvine Valley moved its record to 5-12 overall and 5-4 in the conference. Riverside went to 13-6 overall and 7-2 in the OEC.
IVC dropped two of the first three sets, but finished strong.
The Lasers limited RCC to just .057 hitting percentage in the fourth set and then IVC stepped up and hit .312 in the fifth set to close things out.
It was tied 10-10 in the fifth set, but the Lasers scored three points in a row. Sophomore outside hitter Alya Mersin served an ace to make it 13-10 and then Riverside made two hitting errors to end the match.
Irvine Valley was led by Fowler's 25 kills and 23 digs, but sophomore outside hitter Hailey Oldham added 14 kills and 12 digs and Mersin had nine kills and three blocks.
Sophomore libero Nikki Korneff contributed 15 digs, freshman middle blocker Valeria Leon had five kills and seven blocks and freshman setter Alondra Castro finished with a season-high 49 assists, six digs and three aces.
Irvine Valley plays again on Friday at home in another conference match at 6 p.m. against Orange Coast.
