Golden West Sweeps El Camino to Stay Unbeaten

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – The Golden West College Rustlers continued their dominant start to the season with a decisive 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-19) victory over the visiting El Camino College Warriors on Wednesday evening at GWC Gym. With the win, Golden West improves to 5-0, while El Camino drops to 2-3.

The Rustlers set the tone early, limiting the Warriors to a negative hitting percentage (-.115) in the opening set while executing a clean offensive performance themselves (.211). Golden West's steady attack led to a 25-17 first-set win.

The second set saw similar results as the Rustlers remained composed, keeping their errors to a minimum and capitalizing on El Camino's struggles. Golden West recorded nine kills with only two errors, securing another 25-17 set win to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

In the third and final set, the Rustlers' offense exploded with 20 kills on a blistering .412 hitting percentage. Despite a more competitive effort from the Warriors, Golden West's firepower proved too much, closing out the match with a 25-19 victory.
