Owls Drop Two at Saddleback

Citrus College Softball traveled to Saddleback College for a doubleheader on Wednesday, competing but losing game one 6-3 and falling 8-0 in game two. 

Citrus College goes to 2-6 overall on the season, while Saddleback College improves to 5-0 on the year. 

Ava Camarena got the scoring started in game one with an RBI single to center field, scoring Madelyn Hajj to put the Owls up 1-0. The Bobcats scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 6-1 lead. Ava Camarena knocked in two more runs in the top of the seventh inning making the score 6-3, but the late surge was not enough to comeback against the Bobcats.  

Madelyn Hajj went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, Ava Camarena went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two stolen bases, and Rylee Praytor went 2-for-4 in the game. 

In game two of the day the Owls were unable to get their offense going with only two hits through five innings while giving up eight runs. 

Citrus College will be back in action at home as they host No. 9 ranked Cypress College next Tuesday, February 11th at 2 p.m.
