
Golden West College continued their strong start to the season with a commanding 8-0 victory over Mt. San Jacinto College at home. The Rustlers dominated both offensively and defensively, improving their record to 4-2 while dropping the Eagles to 3-3.
The Rustlers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, plating two runs in the first inning. Lola Weber set the tone with a two-run double to center field, driving in Reggi Frei and Abbie Rainwater.
After three scoreless innings, Golden West extended their lead in the fourth with Candice DeMayo's RBI single, bringing home Isabella Santiago.
The Rustlers broke the game open in the fifth and sixth innings. In the fifth, DeMayo struck again with a two-run single, scoring Isabella Santiago and Allyssa DeMayo to push the lead to 5-0. The sixth inning saw three more runs cross the plate, with Allyssa DeMayo and Isabella Santiago contributing RBI singles to seal the 8-0 shutout victory.
Desyree Arizmendi (W, 2-1) was stellar in the circle, pitching a complete six-inning shutout. She allowed only three hits, struck out six, and walked two, keeping the Eagles' offense at bay throughout the game.
