
SEASON OPENER: SURGING PAST THE SPARTANS
The No. 1 in SoCal Hornets battled it out at No. 20 MiraCosta College Friday night and held off the Spartans 73-59.
With the first half winding down, the Hornets held a 36-27 lead, but MiraCosta managed to pull within four points 36-32 by the time both teams headed to their locker rooms for halftime.
In the second half, Fullerton maintained its distance averaging a ten-point lead. With four minutes left, the Spartans crawled back into the game only trailing by three at 59-56, but a three-pointer and then a steal by Joe Grahovac changed the game allowing Justin Davis to score on a layup. With FC up a healthy 65-56, the team pushed ahead for the first win of the 2024-25 season.
Up Next: No. 1 SoCal Fullerton (1-0 overall) travels to northern California next week to play in Tournament of Champions hosted by West Valley College. FC will play game one against No. 9 NorCal Yuba College at West Valley on Friday, November 8th at 3:00 pm. Then on Saturday, November 9th, the Hornets will take on No. 2 NorCal West Valley College at 3:00 pm.
