No. 16-ranked Citrus College found itself trailing by double digits early and couldn't quite climb out of it in a 97-88 defeat to No. 22-ranked Santiago Canyon College Saturday evening.
The Owls slip to 6-2 on the year with the loss, while the Hawks improve to 7-3 overall.
Brandon Suber came up big off the bench with 26 points (11-for-20) and added 11 rebounds for a double-double. EJ Bryson (5-for-12) and Tyrel Creger (6-for-11) each added 15 points, while Creger also had three steals in the game.
The Owls look to bounce back on the road, heading to San Diego Miramar on Wednesday at 5 p.m. – their first away game of the year.
