The Irvine Valley women's basketball team captured its third win in a row in Orange Empire Conference play, defeating Saddleback, 64-45, on the road.
IVC improved its record to 11-9 overall and 3-1 in the OEC. Saddleback went to 7-12 overall and 0-4 in conference.
Irvine Valley shot 49.1 percent (28 of 57) from the field and out-rebounded the Bobcats, 37-30.
The Lasers led, 15-7, after the first quarter and out-scored Saddleback, 18-9, in the second period to go into the break ahead, 33-16.
The second half was closer, but IVC still pulled away for the 19-point win.
Irvine Valley led by as many as 25 points midway through the fourth quarter.
The Lasers held Saddleback to 26.2 percent (17 of 65) from the field. And Irvine dominated around the rim, out-scoring the Bobcats, 44-8, including getting 16 points on fast-break points.
IVC was paced by sophomore guard Moka Saiki, who finished with 20 points on 8 of 12 shooting from the field. Sophomore Sophomore guard Haruka Mikuma and freshman guard Samantha Barnett each added 14 points.
Barnett was 7 of 13 from the field and Mikuma went 6 of 9 from the field with five rebounds and four steals.
Freshman forward Alexis Price contributed six rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley has an important conference game on Friday, hosting Fullerton at 5 p.m. for a battle of one of the top spots in the conference standings.
