VENTURA - The Marauder softball team won its first two games of the Ventura Tournament defeating Santa Ana, 9-1, in five innings and Hartnell, 5-2. AVC lost its third game to a red hot Chaffey team, 11-2, in the final game of the tournament.
Of AVC's 22 wins this season, half have come via the mercy rule in five innings. Two other victories have come in six innings.
Alexis Robles provided the offensive spark against Hartnell as she went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored. Isabelle Gomez was 2-for-4 with one run scored in the leadoff spot and Ashley Fiorelli added a couple of hits for AVC.
Gomez picked up the win ont he mound as she allowed on two runs on five hits and struck out a career-high nine batters.
