The Hawks looked dominant from the beginning against a well-organized Santa Barbara team but couldn't convert their early pressure into a goal. That changed on 33 minutes, when forward Megan Llopis (pictured) substituted in, and within seconds she had scored with her first touch. Nikki Marino drove down the left and swung in a deep cross for Llopis to arrive and head down at the far post to give the Hawks the lead.
The Hawks continued to push forward, but a stern Santa Barbara Vaqueros defense kept their team in the game. Camryn Toole, Cassie Lewis, Ally Gorsha and Marino all went close for the home team, but one goal proved to be enough.
Savanna Prado again collected the shut-out in goal making one save, with Elyse Valenzuela, Kylee Medlin, Shelby Kain and Paige Winters holding firm at the back.
The Hawks now progress to the So Cal Regional Finals on November 26th at 2pm at home to Saddleback College.
The California Community College Athletic Association stipulate entry fees of $12 for adults and $8 for concessions, paid by cash only at the gate.
