The Panthers' playoff dreams were dashed tonight as #20 Saddleback pulled off their 2nd upset of the week, defeating Chaffey 80-74.
In one of the Panthers' lowest scoring games of the season, Saddleback played a strong defensive game holding Chaffey to 27 points in the 1st half of play. After the break, the Panthers held strong matching the Bobcats 47-47 but Saddleback's 1st period lead would ultimately be too much to overcome. While it looked like the Panthers would have the chance with two minutes remaining, a series of Chaffey fouls ultimately sealed the game for Saddleback.
Brody Davis had a team high 18 points. Mourad Toure added 17.
The Panthers complete the 2023-24 season 25-4 overall.
