The LACC Men's Soccer Team suffer loss in season opener to Golden West College

The 2022 CCCAA College Soccer Season kicked off for the LACC Men's Team on Friday August 26th, 2022. The match up was the same match up as one year prior with Golden West College visiting LACC. Coming back from their inaugural season, the LACC Cubs started the game with a bang, as freshman Fernando Avina took a shot 25 yards out to put the ball in the far corner of the goal. The Cubs lead would not last, as Golden West would go up 2-1 with 2 unaswered goals before the half.
In the second half Golden West would continue how they left off in the 1st half and would go on to score 2 more unanswered goals making the score 4-1 with 25 minutes left in the game. The LACC Cubs were in a drastic position, but would go on to respond in a dramatic fashion as they would score 2 goals by freshmen Nico Magana and Eduardo Campos in the next 10 minutes making the score 4-3, and leaving them with 15 minutes to tie the game. The game was an exiciting one with a full crowd in the stands cheering on both teams. The LACC Cubs finished with several opportunities but fell short of tying the game and suffered their first loss of the season 3-4 to the Golden West Rustler's.
