IRVINE – The SBCC men's tennis team played its second match of the season at Irvine Valley on Tuesday, winning a pair of sets in a 7-2 defeat.
Sophomore Menno Raeymaekers and Santiago Maldonado came away with wins for the Vaqueros in two three-set comeback victories. Freshman Tim Braun was also a highlight for SBCC, but fell 4-6, 6-3, 8-10.
"We competed well with three matches going the distance," head coach Danny Echt said. "Freshman Tim Braun served big to make a strong comeback in the second set against a very strong Irvine Valley team."
The Vaqueros will host Bakersfield in their home opener this Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
